You Wanna Do What Where?

Posted on November 2, 2008 22:37 by lilwolf63

Ok. I'm having health problems. There. I said it. I've been avoiding having to say it "out loud", but here I am, in the hospital. They're trying to figure out what's wrong once and for all and hopefully, fix the problem or at least keep it from being too much of a nuisance. Anyway, I've been put on a med that causes severe headaches...then the headaches cause nausea (ad nauseum!?). So. I get something for the headache -- acetaminophen. And I get something for the nausea. So one leads to another, leads to another, lol....

Here's the kicker. A nurse just came in and gave me some oral meds - no problem. She then held up two syringes. I held up my arm with the IV connection. She said, "No." I said, "What? Where?" Of course, my first thought was the derriere, but noooooo. That would be too normal. She said, "Belly." I said, "WHAT?" She said, "Yeah."

So. For the first time in my life, I got a needle right next to my belly button. Actually, it wasn't too bad. The second one burned a bit, but oh well. THEN.

Then it felt like they were making hard little knots, not wanting to go anywhere, just sit right there and fight. It hurt like a... a... it hurt a lot. I made sure that I told the nurse that too. Still, I don't think she felt very bad, lol.

Another thing about being in the hospital is that the news gets around fairly quickly and the phone starts ringing off the hook and people start dropping by and I can forget any kind of continual rest! Oh, but the people are so sweet and kind. My pastor came by and visited and we prayed together. We had a chance to seek God's will in all things. Even this.

There are people on TV who say that God wants to heal you, that you should never have to be sick or wounded or suffer from any condition or disease. I say that God's strength is made perfect in my weakness, and when I am weak, He is strong. I am not praying for healing for this old, battered body. I am praying for God's power to shine through this frail temple, and that no matter what happens, that His glory is served above my own life.

One of my favorite Christian musicians is Keith Green. Although he died in a plane accident in 1982, his message - God's message lives on. One of his songs is called, "I Pledge My Head to Heaven". It starts out like this: "I pledge my head to heaven for the gospel. And I ask no man on earth to fulfill my needs." He goes on to pledge his wife, his son... to heaven for the sake of the gospel. And he prays that he always loves God even more than he loves them. He put everything in God's hands no matter what. God honored him, and continues to do so.

Why can't I love God that much? Why can't I be more committed to Him than to my own children? How can I possibly put my own comfort over the needs of others to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ?

Why can't you?

And that's the bottom line.

I Really Do Want The Truth

Posted on October 13, 2008 14:13 by lilwolf63

When I was learning about journalism and reporting the news, the main idea that was drilled into my head was "be objective". I was taught that a true professional reporter researched the facts and presented all sides of a story. It was not my place to take sides when presenting a news item. We were to report the news and let the people interpret as they wished, according to their own beliefs and traditions. Today's news shows and reporters have betrayed their position and their integrity and have chosen to attack the conservatives running for office as well as their supporters.

I recently received an email that clearly shows the bias of the mainstream media. They report partial facts or personal opinions as the whole story, and ignore the people's right to know the truth - without their spin on it.

I have joined the AFA in boycotting the main television news outlets (ABC, CBS, NBC) until and unless they either change their reporting standards to include all the facts and the whole story without bias, or they choose to promote their "news" shows as "opinion" shows. Such severe journalistic bias is not honest and should not be tolerated or condoned.

This is the email I received, and is only a partial display of how the media is attacking conservatives:

Listening to the mainstream media these last few days I've learned a few things about the GOP's VP nominee but also had to learn a few things on my own. To wit:

1. From the media I learned Sarah Palin's husband has a DUI conviction from 22 years ago. On my own I learned that Ted Kennedy (hero of last week's tribute at the DNC) was drunk while driving a car off a bridge in Chappaquiddick. That same crash killed a young campaign volunteer.  Mr. Palin's (who is not running for office) DUI came a mere 4 years after Barack Obama (who is running for president) stopped using cocaine and marijuana (by his own admission in his autobiography). Shocking - it's OK for the presidential candidate to use drugs or the party patriarch to kill someone while driving drunk yet the husband of a VP candidate should be demonized for something done 22 years ago.

2. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin's daughter is pregnant. On my own I learned the Obama's mother was a unmarried street hippy in Honolulu, Hawaii, when she conceived Obama. On my own I learned that Joe Biden's (the other VP candidate) son was  paid a large amount of money as a consultant to credit card company MBNA.  That same company had business before Senator Joe Biden concerning regulation of consumer credit practices. After the company paid a hefty sum to Mr. Biden's son, he voted in favor of legislation to help that company. That same son, Hunter, is also engaged in a legal investigation and suit for defrauding a former business partner Shocking - it's a crime for the republican VP candidate to have a child who's pregnant even though it's irrelevant to how she performs her job.  It's ok if the democrat Presidential candidate's unwed mother to conceived him out of wedlock. It's ok, however, for the democrat VP candidate while a senator to vote in favor of a company who paid his son over a quarter of a million dollars.

3. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin should be considered "selfish" for agreeing to run for VP knowing about her daughter's condition. Knowing that at her public role would bring extra scrutiny on the family is selfish and she should have declined to protect her child (actually heard this on ABC this weekend). Strange - the same people who said Sarah is selfish for running for VP did not seem to care about any impact on Chelsea when Bill Clinton had his dalliance with Monica Lewinsky. That was a private, personal matter you see.

4. From the media I have learned to be "concerned" that Sarah Palin probably won't be able to manage her family and do an effective job of being VP at the same time. Funny - I never heard anything about Hillary's ability to support Chelsea while re-doing healthcare or any of the other feminist icons who say you can balance work and family. They also never mention that Barack will have to balance time with his children while meeting with heads of nations or how Joe Biden's kids don't even have a mom and will be fighting for his time while he hosts White House affairs.

5. From the media I have learned that Sarah Palin is "too inexperienced" to be a heartbeat-away from the presidency.  Apparently taking on corruption in your own party and running a state that's the same size people-wise as Delaware (hint hint: that's where Joe Biden is from) is not really experience. However, time spent as a "community organizer" and less than 180 days in the senate where you've authored no significant legislation is just the type of "change" we're looking for from the top of the ticket. Funny - inexperience at the top of the ticket is a mantra for "change" and "hope" while strong practical everyday experience as the #2 is cause for concern.

6. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin's husband once got a ticket for fishing without a license.  I haven't heard much about the fact that if he were still a practicing attorney, the VP candidate Joe Biden would be disbarred for plagiarism not once but multiple times. It's ok to break the rules if you're a democrat candidate but not OK if you are the spouse of a republican candidate.

7. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin doesn't know much about Iraq; in fact we wonder if she even knows where it is. Sarah's son volunteered into the US military and is now deployed in Iraq. I guess that doesn't count. Sarah has spent more time with troops in Iraq (as commander of the Alaska National Guard she visited Iraq last year) than Obama has even while running for president. In fact, when Sarah went to Iraq she spent time with the troops. When Obama went there, he skipped a base visit to instead go work out at the Ritz Carlton.

8. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin is a "lightweight" and she better be a "quick study" to keep up with this team. Funny, nobody is talking about how, after Barack Obama had "visited 57 states" according to him  ( 57?)  he only had "5 more to go".

9. From the media I have learned that (gasp!), Sarah Palin's husband was once a registered member of a 3rd party that favored states' rights (man, this is really bad stuff). That same media has been silent to the story that when Barack Obama announced his first senate run, he did so in the home of William Ayers. Mr. Ayers is an un-repentant terrorist convicted for bombing the pentagon. This same Mr. Ayers said on 9/11 that he and his group did not do enough to harm our military and he wished he had done more. During the same time as that comment, he was serving on a board with Barack Obama. All notes and information about their serving together is now locked up by the corrupt Chicago political machine and reporter access to those records are being blocked by the Obama campaign.

If we've had any doubts about the bias of the media, it's pretty clear now where they stand. Pass this on to some of your friends who are on the fence and who get all their information from Katie Couric, Wolf Blitzer, Tom Brokaw and the gang. This is egregious and corrupt. The only way to stop it is to spread information using other outlets and make these guys irrelevant.

I expect the truth from those who wish for us to trust them with informing us of the facts. I expect respect from those who disagree with us, as I am willing to offer the same.

Shame on those networks and reporters.

Yes, that's the Bottom Line.

Protect and Uphold the Constitution

Posted on October 13, 2008 01:15 by lilwolf63

The United States Constitution, our country's most important document, is being disregarded.  The President of the United States of America is under oath to protect and defend the principles within it, but how can someone run for the office of President while disregarding those same principles?

The first thing anyone should do when running for office is to display their qualifications and eligibility to run for that office. Barack Obama has refused to release his birth records, his college records and other documents that could prove or disprove his citizenship status in the United States. A lawsuit is floundering in the courts right now, filed by lifelong democrat Phil J. Berg. Mr. Berg is an attorney, former deputy attorney general of Pennsylvania, lifelong democrat, 31 years as a committee person, former chairman of the democratic party in Montgomery county, Pennsylvania, a member of the democratic state committee for eight years, has been a candidate on the democratic ticket throughout Pennsylvania for the office of governor, and the United States Senate, has been practicing law for 37 years and is licensed to practice throughout the commonwealth of Pennsylvania including the supreme court and also the federal court system which is the eastern district of Pennsylvania, the third circuit court of appeals, and licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court. He is taking this stand to defend the Constitution and the American people from being defrauded.

On August 21, 2008, Mr. Berg filed a federal lawsuit against senator Barack Obama claiming that Sen. Obama was not a natural born citizen, and ineligible for the presidency. The case requires Obama to present birth documents proving otherwise. Senator Obama has not complied. The DNC has filed motions to draw this issue out and avoid exposing the truth. As he points out, the other candidate in the race provided whatever documents were requested within a timely manner. So why hasn't Obama?

Watch this video to see and hear this explained clearly by Mr. Berg. The question he asks of Barack Obama is this, "If you're a natural born citizen, what are you hiding?"

Why has Barack Obama refused to provide the required documents proving his eligibility to run for the office of president? What does he have to hide? How can he get away with not verifying his eligibility? What happens if he's elected and is then proved to be ineligible?

*A professional assessment of the Certificate of Live Birth (COLB) currently being circulated.
*Elected officials do NOT go through any background checks prior to taking office.

I vote for complete disclosure. And that's the Bottom Line.

McDonald's Agrees to Change

Posted on October 9, 2008 15:14 by lilwolf63
The boycott of McDonald's, called out by the AFA, has been canceled due to a positive response by McDonald's.

I have to admit that when I first began to boycott McDonald's, I questioned whether or not such action would actually have any effect on a company as large as they are. It was at that time I decided that it didn't make a difference if McDonald's changed their ways at all. What mattered is that I take a stand for what I believe is right -- regardless of the outcome. There have been several changes in my life stemming from this one decision.

  • I decided to be what I am, not pretend to be what I'm not. In a nutshell, this means that I have chosen to be faithful to God in obvious ways, not just in my room at home. I have chosen to publicly embrace the things that are right and true, while publicly denouncing and rejecting things that are evil and full of lies.
  • One of my oldest and dearest friends has been living with homosexuality for many years and has chosen to drop contact with me since I spoke out publicly against it. I still love him and pray for him and I trust God to handle the hurt on both sides.
  • I have been given more opportunities to share and support the things of God in my community and in my country.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to grow into a stronger Christian, and by the grace of God, I'll continue to grow. I want to join together with everyone who participated in this boycott, in celebration of God's grace. It's when God's people take action, that God can work His will.

And now, here is the AFA announcement, word for word, informing us of McDonald's decision:

"McDonald’s said McDonald’s Vice President Richard Ellis has resigned his position on the board of NGLCC and that his seat on the board will not be replaced. McDonald’s also said that the company has no plans to renew their membership in NGLCC when it expires in December.

Great news! Because of AFA supporters like you, McDonald’s has told AFA they will remain neutral in the culture war regarding homosexual marriage. AFA is ending the boycott of McDonald’s. As you know, AFA called for the boycott in May after McDonald’s joined the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC).

In an e-mail to McDonald’s franchised owners the company said, “It is our policy to not be involved in political and social issues. McDonald’s remains neutral on same sex marriage or any ‘homosexual agenda’ as defined by the American Family Association.

We appreciate the decision by McDonald’s to no longer support political activity by homosexual activist organizations. You might want to thank your local McDonald’s manager."

I, for one, will be enjoying a double cheeseburger tonight!

God is good all the time. And that's the Bottom Line.

Can You Handle The Truth?

Posted on October 9, 2008 02:51 by lilwolf63

I have nothing to add to this comprehensive exhibit offering the facts about Barack Obama, his actions, his record and his disrespect of America and Americans. Go ahead and visit. I challenge you to take a look at everything there, especially as you get further down the page. The facts are there. You can like Senator Obama, you can think he's a great guy, but open your eyes and look -- really look.

Sometimes the truth is unpleasant. And scary.

Let's see now,

  • Obama does not wear a flag pin because he says it doesn't represent "true patriotism".
  • Obama does not hold his hand over his heart during the National Anthem.
  • Obama's campaign remakes the Presidential seal using his logo and slogan in Latin.
  • Obama takes the American flag off his campaign plane.
  • Obama puts the Obama logo and "President" on his first class leather chair in his new campaign plane.
  • The DNC puts the American flag upside down on his convention tickets.

He has continually avoided direct answers to direct questions and has not disclosed his personal records. I want to know what he specifically plans to do with us. I want to know who he is because character matters to me. I want to know how he plans to serve our country more than he serves himself.

Senator Obama, please tell us who you are, what you've done and what you plan to do!

  • Occidental College records -- not released
  • Columbia College records -- not released
  • Columbia Thesis paper -- "not available"
  • Harvard College records -- not released
  • Selective Service Registration -- not released
  • Medical records -- not released
  • Illinois State Senate schedule -- "not available
  • Law practice client list -- not released
  • Certified copy of original birth certificate -- not released
  • Embossed, signed paper Certification of Live Birth -- not released
  • Harvard Law Review articles published -- None
  • University of Chicago scholarly articles -- None
  • Record of Baptism -- not released or not available
  • Illinois State Senate records -- "not available"
I will vote for the man who has given direct answers. I will vote for the man who cares about America and will defend the Constitution, not make excuses or give reasons why it should be overlooked or misinterpreted.

I will vote for the man I can trust to do the right thing.

Let's Mortgage Like It's 1999

Posted on October 3, 2008 04:38 by lilwolf63
This article from the New York Times, originally published on Sep. 30, 1999, explains why Fannie Mae, et al, took a turn on the path the led us to the financial crisis in which we now find ourselves, almost 10 years later. The Clinton administration put the pressure on Fannie Mae to "expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people", plus they "felt pressure from stock holders to maintain phenomenal growth in profits". Other players, banks, thrift institutions and mortgage companies had been putting on their own pressure to help them make more loans to subprime borrowers. People who could never have gotten a home loan -- for good reasons -- were drawn in just to fill the pockets of greedy people. The greedmongers got their money, the borrowers got a home for a while, the Clinton administration got a pat on the back for "improving" things. Flash forward to 2008: the house of cards caught a light breeze and has started to fall. Read the article, especially the part where they took a peek into the future and knew that they could run into trouble with any economic downturn... even a small one would start a chain reaction.

"IF THEY FAIL, THE GOVERNMENT WILL HAVE TO STEP UP AND BAIL THEM OUT THE WAY IT STEPPED UP AND BAILED OUT THE THRIFT INDUSTRY." ::Quote from Peter Wallison, 1999.

This quote was spoken almost ten years ago, and look where we are now. No one can say we weren't warned. We just didn't want to get our chubby hands out of the cookie jar. Now we're reaping what we sowed.

God help us if we have more of the same democratic party philosophy in Washington.

The Truth Must Be Censored

Posted on September 24, 2008 16:38 by lilwolf63

Unless you speak in agreement with the views of those who "control" free speech.

YouTube has blocked this video. Why? No one knows, except YouTube. They said it was something about violating a term of service, but didn't say which one. This video does not offer anything that is untrue. It is not fabricated at all. While a couple of images may be disturbing (and isn't violence disturbing?), they hardly violate YouTube's terms of service when so many other videos portraying violence and obscenity are freely distributed and viewed on the site.

WHY DID YOUTUBE BLOCK THIS VIDEO?

hhmmm.... what is the political motivation here? To obscure the truth about Barak Obama and his support of infanticide? To cover up his disrespect for parental authority? What?

Don't vote blindly. Learn the truth. Then find a way to accept it. Only a fool can be deceived-because he allows it.

Ray Boltz - In My Prayers

Posted on September 16, 2008 12:24 by lilwolf63
Ray Boltz has announced publicly that he is living a homosexual lifestyle. My first reactions were disbelief and shock. But when I accepted that what I was reading was true, I felt dismayed, disgusted and betrayed that a brother would choose to indulge his sexual lusts over obedience to God... and then actually blame God for it. He's written so many inspirational songs over the years - I've sung a lot of them myself. But now I won't be able to listen to any of them without that tinge of sorrow. I'm angry at the enemy for winning this battle for the heart of Ray Boltz, but I know that God is greater. Ray needs love and prayers until such time as he either repents and enjoys restoration into good fellowship with the Father, or until that time when God takes him home and will confront him face to face.

The struggle that Ray Boltz is going through is not much different from what any of us go through. The enemy looks for our weak spots and worms his way in until we find ourselves not only far from God, but believing that we're the ones who are right... it must be God that's lagging behind. It's so easy to make excuses or to manipulate our human reasoning abilities to explain away our sins and try to mask and cover up our conscience.

Sure, times have changed, but God never has, and never will. If you find yourself wondering why you don't feel close to God today, ask yourself, "Who's moved?"

And that's the Bottom Line.

Jeff Hall ...my tribute to a great man.

Posted on September 13, 2008 15:49 by lilwolf63
I just found out that a friend of mine passed away yesterday. Jeff Hall was, for lack of any better term, a really cool guy. Jeff and I lost touch a long time ago and only recently had become reacquainted. He told me about his battle with cancer, and about his wonderful wife, Lynda - he described her as his hero. I've not met her, but I can only imagine that she must be an amazing woman. Jeff had nothing but great things to say about her and their marriage. I believe that Jeff knew Jesus and we'll see each other again. Still, no matter how long until then, it will be too long until then.
